Final decision in war over parish boundary

THE final decision on whether to change the parish boundary between Peppard and Sonning Common was due to be made last night (Thursday).

South Oxfordshire District Council held a meeting where members of both parish councils were invited to speak.

Sonning Common Parish Council wanted to move the parish’s northern boundary to run along the Stony Bottom ridge and to increase the number of parish councillors from 12 to 15.

Peppard Parish Council wanted the boundary to remain as it is.

The district council’s Community Governance Review working group had recommended making no change to the boundary and refusing to allow more councillors.
