Residents win fight for name signs

FUNDING has been secured for name signs that will give an area near Watlington its own identity.

Peter Richardson and his neighbours asked for their stretch of the B480 to be designated as “Howe Hill”.

Now Oxfordshire county councillor Steve Harrod has given almost £500 from his councillor community budget to enable signs to be placed at the top and bottom of Howe Hill.

He said: “I felt it was right to support the community in their endeavours to establish an identity for themselves.”

Mr Richardson said: “We’re very happy and very grateful to Cllr Harrod.”
