A NEW Peppard resident has complained about speeding in the village. Barry Wood, of Stoke Row Road, raised the issue at a meeting of the parish council on Monday. Mr Wood, a former Henley mayor who moved to Peppard last month, said he was “alarmed” by the amount of speeding in Stoke Row Road. He estimated that one in four motorists and even bus drivers broke the 30mph limit and suggested police used mobile speed cameras to target offenders.
Chairman David Hammond said: “This is something that comes up regularly. Police are taking it seriously. We have had fairly regular speed checks here.” He said he would raise the issue with Oxfordshire County Council as the highways authority.
