Call to cut station parking rates

THE Henley Branch Users’ group hopes to reduce the cost of parking at the town railway station.

The idea is one of eight objectives which the group is looking at to try to improve rail services in Henley.

It is hoped reducing the cost of parking at the station will encourage commuters not to park on streets, particularly Hamilton Avenue and Vicarage Road.

The group, which meets monthly, also aims to improve service delivery levels, overcrowding, electrification and its impact on the branch line, scheduling and timetabling, the impact of Crossrail, fares, revenue and the feasibility of a cycle path along the line between Henley and Shiplake.

The rail users’ group was launched in April.
