A BUSINESSMAN living at a former village pub without permission has been served with notice to quit.
Satwinder Sandhu, from Huddersfield, bought the White Lion at Crays Pond in October and then set up home there.
He applied for retrospective planning permission to convert the pub into a house but residents objected and South Oxfordshire District Council turned down the application.
Now the authority has served him with an enforcement notice giving him a year to leave. He has until August 27 to appeal.
Mr Sandhu can submit a new planning application if he wants to stay for good but must meet higher standards of proof than previously that the pub is unviable.
