NEW homes in South Oxfordshire should be built in the “science vale” near Didcot or in a brand new settlement, says Sonning Common Parish Council.
It has selected these two options as part of a consultation into the district council’s housing targets.
Under the existing local plan the district must take 10,600 homes by 2027 but a government-backed report suggested the target should increase to between 14,500 and 16,500 by 2031.
The district council is now consulting on a new plan and has proposed eight options for distributing the homes.
Under the existing plan, Sonning Common must find room for another 138 homes by 2027.
