Drivers warned over ‘dangerous’ parking

DRIVERS have been accused of parking dangerously on Wargrave Hill.

The issue was raised at a meeting of Wargrave Parish Council which heard that parked cars often block the road near the junction with High Street.

Chairman Richard Bush said: “People have taken to parking up there but we don’t know if it’s customers from the George and Dragon pub or anyone else.

“It’s dangerous because it’s causing obstructions on the highway and if you are coming up that road you have to pull out and you can’t see until you are right out in the road. I would like to get the police involved because they could find out who these cars belong to.”

Parish clerk Stephen Hedges said that while parking on the road was not illegal, obstructing the highway or parking too close to the junction were.
