Crossing plan hits shop snag

PLANS for a pedestrian crossing on a busy Henley road have hit a snag.

Businessman Amardeep Takhar says its location in Greys Road will take away parking spaces from his business.

Mr Takhar, of Gillotts Lane, who owns Takhar wine mart and superstore, raised his concerns to members of the town council’s traffic advisory committee last Tuesday (22).

He said that his customer’s park outside his shop on the opposite side of the road where there are no double yellow lines and that the crossing would prevent them from doing that.

Mr Takhar added: “I don’t think there was an impact assessment on my business.”
