RESIDENTS have criticised a developer’s plans to build 82 homes in Sonning Common.
Bewley Homes has submitted a planning application to develop land at Lea Meadow, a 10-acre site south of the Herb Farm in Peppard Road.
The development would comprise two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, of which 32 would be affordable, with 157 parking spaces and a play area.
About 50 people have responded to South Oxfordshire District Council’s public consultation, with the majority opposing the plans.
The critics claim there would be too many houses, causing an increase in traffic and loss of green space and putting pressure on already overstretched amenities.
