Cheaper in dark

MORE streetlights in Charvil will be turned off at night in cost-saving measures by Wokingham Borough Council.

The lights in Old Bath Road and Park View Drive North will be switched off between 12.30am and 5.30am.

They will also be fitted with modern lamps designed to save energy.

Eight others streets in the village are already part of the scheme, including Charvil Meadow Road and The Hawthorns.

In Wargrave, there are six streets involved — Autumn Walk, Bayliss Road, Clifton Rise, Dunnock Way, Kings Acre and McCraes Walk.
