DAVID BUCKLE told the Henley Standard: “Procrastinating? I wish I had that much power. It is not me that takes these decisions.
“The fact of the matter is we have been looking at this for many, many years now. The council does not have a formal view, it has not passed a view to introduce it or not introduce it. I suppose we could say it is sat on the fence.
“The decision is not ours, it is the county that has to introduce the order.
“One of the reasons that this council is sat on the fence is because we have never been entirely sure that all the town councils and larger villages are supportive.
“We have been encouraging the towns to let us know quite clearly and categorically so we can put pressure on the county council, which has said it wants the three councils in Oxfordshire to agree so it can do it in one go.
