Superfast broadband on the way to villages

BROADBAND cabinets are to be installed in Sonning Common, Gallowstree Common and Peppard.

A planning application has been submitted to South Oxfordshire District Council by the Harlequin Group on behalf of BT Openreach.

Eight dark green cabinets will be installed at various locations in the villages.

The company wants six cabinets in Sonning Common in Woodlands Road near the junction with Baskerville Road; Kennylands Road near the junction with Westleigh Drive; in Wood Lane near the junction with Kennylands Road; Ashford Avenue near the junction with Reades Lane; Woodlands Road near the junction with Newfields Road and Widmore Lane near the junction with Pond End Road. There would be one on the corner of Horsepond Road and Reades Lane in Gallowstree Common and another at the junction of Stoke Row Road and Peppard Hill in Peppard.

The cabinets come in two different sizes and will be either 5ft or 4ft tall.
