HENLEY is not to take part in a countywide survey of walking trails.
Oxfordshire County Council invited the town council to say which public rights of way in and around the town it considered “important” as it wants to focus funding on the most used routes.
However, members of the recreation and amenities committee voted not to take part, saying the deadline of this month was too soon.
Councillor David Clenshaw said: “It would take months to produce sensible information.”
Resident David Parry said: “We could speak to a dozen people over 50 and they wouldn’t know how to walk to Greys Court from town.
