Residents slam developer over plans for 82 homes

A DEVELOPER has been accused of “bulldozing ahead” with plans to build 82 homes in Sonning Common despite opposition from residents and the parish council.

Bewley Homes came under attack at a meeting of the council’s planning committee on Monday which was attended by about 60 villagers.

The company has submitted a planning application to develop land at Lea Meadow, a 10-acre site south of the Herb Farm in Peppard Road.

The development would comprise 50 two-, three- and four-bedroom homes and 32 affordable one-, two- and three-bedroom homes.

There would also be 157 parking spaces, a play area and access roads as well as a new combined cycleway and pathway along Peppard Road.
