Cleaner buses

TWO new electric hybrid buses are running in Charvil.

The green buses, which are owned by Courtney Buses, are being used on the 126, 127, 128 and 129 services between Reading and Wokingham, which stop at the Wee Waif pub in Old Bath Road up to 16 times a day.

The new services will be known as “coffee and mint” and the two buses have been nicknamed Imperial and Humbug.

Simon Fisher, transport manager of Courtney Buses, said: “Compared with a conventional diesel engine, these hybrid buses reduce carbon emissions by at least 50 per cent.”
