Tool shed at council allotments cleared

THE tool shed at Wargrave allotments has been cleared ahead of refurbishment.

Wargrave Parish Council is to meet with the allotments society on Monday to discuss the next move.

Councillor Tim Jones, who chairs the council’s buildings working group, told a council meeting: “The side lockers and the timber have been cleared and now we can see what the structure is like.”

Members of the society complained that they were not told about the piles of timber removed from the shed which they said they could have re-used.

Parish clerk Stephen Hedges said the council would not allow any wood to be taken by allotment holders until it had been checked for nails.
