Poor trim

A LAUREL hedge at the recreation ground in Wargrave is “totally overgrown”, according to a parish councillor.

Marion Pope said Wokingham Borough Council contractors had failed to cut back the hedge properly and should be asked to do it again.

She also raised concerns about the condition of several chestnut trees in the field off Recreation Road.

She said: “The bark is splitting terribly all the way down and I do have the feeling the trees may be on their last legs. We really need to get them looked at.”
