Mast to be upgraded despite opposition

A TELEPHONE mast will be upgraded despite opposition from residents.

Telefónica UK submitted a planning application to upgrade the mast in Greys Road as it only provides 3G internet coverage to Vodafone and itself. Residents Ronald Needs and his neighbours Mandy Beard and her partner David Sadler said the existing 15m pole was an “eyesore” and called for it to be moved along Greys Road away from homes. However, South Oxfordshire District Council has said the company doesn’t even need permission. Henley Town Council’s planning committee had supported the application.
