FGW apologises for rail disruption

NETWORK Rail and First Great Western have apologised to passengers for the disruption to services between between Reading and London last week.

In a letter to Reading East MP Rob Wilson, they acknowledged that the performance was “well below the standards customers should expect” and that they were sorry for the “frustration and inconvenience” felt by passengers.

The companies blamed the trouble on signalling failures.
