Chickens disallowed

A FAMILY’S request to keep chickens on their allotment in Wargrave has been rejected.

They wanted to have a coop with two birds at their plot off Recreation Road.

But Wargrave Parish Council refused permission due to lack of space and the risk of fox attacks.

Councillor Marion Pope said: “The family don’t live adjacent to the allotments. The chickens belong to the children and I can’t see them going up there every day.

“There isn’t enough room frankly.”
