Call to keep recycling bins and have more frequent collections

MORE frequent collections would prevent illegal fly-tipping at a Henley recycling facility, say town councillors.

They want to keep the mixed recycling bins in King’s Road car park which South Oxfordshire District Council plans to remove due to illegal dumping.

In August, the Henley Standard reported how 1.5 tonnes of household and commercial waste was left by the bins.

Former mayor Ken Arlett, of Elizabeth Road, said he had seen rats in the area attracted by fly-tipping.

Speaking at a meeting of the town council’s town and community committee, he said: “It has been like that for well over two years.
