A FORMER village pub is to become a post office, shop and tearooms.
The Four Horseshoes in Checkendon closed a year ago having had a number of tenants in recent years.
Now South Oxfordshire District Council has approved a change of use application submitted by Henley pub company Brakspear, which owns the Grade II listed building.
The move comes just three months after the owner of the village’s current post office and store was granted planning permission to convert his building into a house.
The Main Street pub will remodelled internally and the bar removed and the rest of the building will become a house.
