Limit cut to 40mph

THE speed limit along the Howe Hill stretch of the B480 near Watlington is to be reduced from 60mph to 40mph

THE speed limit along the Howe Hill stretch of the B480 near Watlington is to be reduced from 60mph to 40mph. Oxfordshire County Council is to spend £5,000 on the necessary traffic orders and 14 new signs. It follows claims by residents that Howe Hill is dangerous because drivers break the speed limit. Other stretches of the road, including the stretch through Cookley Green, have a 30mph limit. Caroline Newton, county councillor for Watlington, said the reduction was “very sensible”. It’s not yet known when the new limit will come into force.
