Parish council raises tax demand

RESIDENTS of Watlington will see their council tax bill rise from April.

RESIDENTS of Watlington will see their council tax bill rise from April.

The parish council’s share of the demand will increase by £1.34 to £73.26 for the average band D household.

The council says the rise will guarantee services and allow for more to be spent on maintenance in the main recreation area as well as going towards development of a neighbourhood plan.

Tim Horton, chairman of the council’s finance committee, said the council was in a good financial position with no debts on capital projects and having made efficiency savings.
