Peachy presents plans in pyjamas!

BBC Radio Berkshire presenter Andrew Peach has apologised to Peppard parish councillors for finding his family pyjama-clad.

BBC Radio Berkshire presenter Andrew Peach has apologised to Peppard parish councillors for finding his family pyjama-clad.

The councillors were scheduled to visit his home on a Saturday morning in order to consider his planning application but “Peachy” failed to pick up a message left on his mobile phone the night before saying they were coming.

As a result, he and his wife and two children were somewhat surprised by the visitors.

Peach said: “It was 9.30am and we did not have to be anywhere until 11am, so the whole family were in their PJs and I don’t mind saying that the house was a little bit of a mess.

“There was a knock at the door and it seemed like the whole council, or certainly at least six of the parish council, were outside. They had come to have a look at our planning application and were all very nice but I tried to get dressed really quickly before I opened the door.”

The presenter added that the incident took him back to his days at Oxford University when he used to get dressed “in about 18 seconds”.

“I tried to pass the whole thing off but if I was a bit dishevelled I apologise,” he said. “Please don’t think we don’t get up early in our house because it is quite the opposite.” Peach presents the weekday breakfast show.
