Offer of new venue

A NEW venue could host this year’s annual parish meeting in Watlington.

A NEW venue could host this year’s annual parish meeting in Watlington.

The meeting took place in the sports pavilion last year but Icknield Community College has offered the parish council the use of the school.

In return, the college would like to display work by students and conduct tours before the meeting on Thursday, April 25.

Councillor Tony Williamson said: “My feeling is yes to doing it but anything that they want to do as a school must be quite separate. If it’s the case that people can spend half an hour before the meeting going around the school that is fine but when it comes to the annual meeting it must be the annual meeting.”

The choice of venue will be discussed at next month’s council meeting.
