Recycling bins going

RECYCLING bins in the Hill Road car park in Watlington will be removed on May 1.

RECYCLING bins in the Hill Road car park in Watlington will be removed on May 1.

South Oxfordshire District Council will take the bins away at the request of the parish council because they were being misused.

Collections will be made for just two weeks after this.

Two clothing banks will also be removed while the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust clothing bank has already been moved to another part of the car park.

The district council tried to discourage misuse by increasing collections from once a week to twice but it made no difference.

Councillor Barry Adby, chairman of Watlington’s operations committee, said: “This should put an end to the tipping of rubbish and commercial waste.”

Four more parking spaces will be created as a result of the changes.
