Memorial bush for ex-villager

A BUSH has been planted as a memorial to a former Peppard resident.

A BUSH has been planted as a memorial to a former Peppard resident.

The mulberry in Carlings Orchard pays tribute to Jonathan Bowden, who grew up in the village but died last year, aged 49.

His friend Michael Woolbridge asked the parish council for the bush to be planted.

Council chairman David Hammond said he didn’t want the orchard turning into a memorial garden but he was happy to accept this application because the tree was supplied and no plaque was required.
