THIS year’s beating of the bounds in Peppard will take place on Sunday, May 5.

Participants will meet at the Unicorn pub in Kingwood at 2.30pm and will walk part of the boundary via Wyfold Lane, the woods in Gallowstree Common and the Wyfold Estate.

There will be a quiz and treasure hunt for families.

The tradition of beating the bounds dates back to Anglo-Saxon times when it took place on either Ascension Day or in Rogation Week.

Volunteers are needed to make the preparations. Anyone interested should email parish clerk Linda Collison at clerk@rppc.org.uk
