County Council election results

The Conservatives have lost overall control of Oxfordshire County Council in the local elections.

The party was one seat short of a majority after Labour, Liberal Democrat and independents candidates gained seats.

With all results in, have 31 seats, down from 52.

Labour won 15 seats, the Lib Dems 11, independents four and the Greens held their two seats.

UKIP did not win in any Oxfordshire wards.

11.31am: The first set of results has been announced from the Oxfordshire County Council election count in Abingdon.

Following the redrawing of the electoral boundaries, the new ward of Benson and Cholsey's first councillor will be Independent Mark Gray.

For Benson and Cholsey ward the results are as follows:

Mark Gray (Independent) ? 1,194 votes ? elected.
Peter Skolar (Conservative) ? 545
Robert Nielsen (UKIP) ? 513
Tim Fenn (Green) ? 166
Mandy Winters (Labour) ? 154
