Planning inquiry delay

THE future of Hare Hatch Sheeplands garden centre remains uncertain after a planning inquiry was adjourned.

THE future of Hare Hatch Sheeplands garden centre remains uncertain after a planning inquiry was adjourned.

Hundreds gathered outside Wokingham Borough Council’s offices on Tuesday but planning inspector Nicholas Freeman postponed the hearing until October 8 because a key witness was unwell.

Owner Rob Scott has been accused of 15 planning breaches by using the land to display and sell conservatories, using greenhouses to extend the café and children’s play area and having an events area and parking and storage of vehicles, plant and waste.

The unauthorised work was discovered by the council when Mr Scott applied for a £2million renovation project last year.
