A PHONE box in Peppard could be given a makeover and be turned into a historical exhibition about the village.

A PHONE box in Peppard could be given a makeover and be turned into a historical exhibition about the village.

The Flat Earth Society wants to buy the kiosk in Church Lane from BT for £1 and redecorate it with old photographs.

But it will have to wait 90 days while South Oxfordshire District Council decides whether to give consent.

At a meeting of Peppard Parish Council, Councillor Terry Ryan said members of the society had sourced the traditional red paint used on the kiosks as well as a selection of photographs.

Councillor Fiona Berry said: “As well as pictures we could have a map of the village and provide routes for kids to find different things.”
