IMPROVEMENTS are set to be made to the toddler playground at the entrance to Mill Meadows in Henley.

A committee will be formed to discuss what can be done.Speaking at a meeting of Henley Town Council’s Mill Meadows and river sub-committee, Councillor Kellie Hinton said the equipment looked “quite tired and old”.

Parks manager Gareth Bartle said: “The playground is reaching its sell-by date so it is the opportune time to get it done now.”

Deputy Mayor Martin Akehurst said that for large periods of last year the self-closing gates didn’t work, which concerned parents.

Town clerk Mike Kennedy suggested canvassing parents for ideas and perhaps the playground could have a theme such as the river.
