Imprinted walkway

AN imprinted walkway is set to be installed in Benson.

Parish councillors have agreed to spend up to £7,000 marking the pedestrian section alongside Nos 1 to 13 Brook Street, where there is no pavement, following consultation with homeowners.

The walkway, which should discourage motorists from driving too close to pedestrians, is due to be in place by early autumn.

“Psychological traffic- calming” was introduced in Brook Street three years ago with the removal of the white line in the midddle of the road. The road edge lines were brought in to make the street look narrower and encourage drivers to slow down.
