New signs for barn

NEW signs are to be installed at King’s Arms Barn in Henley.

NEW signs are to be installed at King’s Arms Barn in Henley.

The move follows repeated requests from former Mayor Gill Dodds to promote the building.

The town council is considering a quote of £330 for a wall-mounted traditional sign and an alternative entrance sign for £220 (with crest) or £160 (without crest).

It may also buy two oak noticeboards with toughened glass doors and locks at a cost of £480 each. One board would be used at the town hall and the other at the Old Fire Station Gallery.

Councillor Pam Phillips told a meeting of the council’s town and community committee that the new signs were necessary. “We have had criticism that people do not know where King’s Arms Barn is,” she said.
