HAVE you noticed the roads are becoming more colourful?
Councillor Elizabeth Hodgkin told a town council committee meeting last week that she had noticed potholes marked in white, light red and light green.
Keith Stenning, Oxfordshire County Council’s area steward, explained that the colours were to make the holes more visible to drivers and to tell the repair teams which ones were a priority.
Holes marked in red should be dealt with within 24 hours of being reported while those marked in white and green should be repaired within 28 days.
“We used to use orange but it faded too quickly so we now use green,” he added.
Deputy Mayor Martin Akehurst joked: “I thought the colours were to help Henley in Bloom!”
