Volunteers needed to help with homes plan

VOLUNTEERS are needed to lead the production of the Henley and Harpsden neighbourhood plan.

VOLUNTEERS are needed to lead the production of the Henley and Harpsden neighbourhood plan.

They will be involved with the working groups looking at key issues such as housing and transport, the environment, the economy and social facilities.

More than 60 residents have registered to be part of the groups and workshops for them will begin next month and continue into next year.

The groups will be facilitated by Nexus Planning and Kevin Murray Associates, the consultants appointed to assist in preparing the plan.

Later this month, landowners and developers will be asked to attend an information session where the consultants will explain the plan process.

Developers will be discouraged from submitting planning applications before the plan is completed and will be given a chance to present their sites to the working groups in the autumn.

The plan will be launched to the public in Henley Market Place on September 7 and at the Henley Show a week later.

It is expected to take about a year to produce and the final public referendum is due to take place in autumn next year.
