Resident calls for dog bin

A DOG bin could be installed in Marlow Road opposite Henley Rugby Club following an appeal by a resident.

A DOG bin could be installed in Marlow Road opposite Henley Rugby Club following an appeal by a resident.

Doreen Jones, of Rupert Close, urged councillors to consider placing a bin in the area at last week’s meeting of the town council.

She said there was no bin between Toad Hall garden centre and Mill Meadows.

“I live fairly close to the rugby club and am very concerned about all the bags of doggy poo which are left hanging along the length of the fence,” she said. “It is quite revolting.

“We have requested a bin before so many times and nothing has been done. It has got to the point where something does need to happen. I can’t believe in this day and age that it can’t be done.”

Town clerk Mike Kennedy said he would liaise with South Oxfordshire District Council about whether it would be possible to put a dog bin in the area.

He said a sticker would be placed on the rubbish bin near Rupert Close reminding owners that dog waste can be disposed of in it.
