Dividing opinion

A PLAN to divide a detached house in Henley has been recommended for refusal by town council.

A PLAN to divide a detached house in Henley has been recommended for refusal by town council.

Clamphill Developments, of Denham, want to add a first-floor extension to the house in Nicholas Road and create two semi-detached homes.

Henley Town Council’s planning committee said the development would be out of character for the area.

Councillor Elizabeth Hodgkin said part of the garden had already been sold for a bungalow to be built and said splitting the house would lead to more cars on the corner with Valley Road, which was already “very dodgy”.

South Oxfordshire District Council will make the final decision.
