School sign supported

PLANS to erect a new sign outside Gillotts School have been backed by Henley town councillors.

PLANS to erect a new sign outside Gillotts School have been backed by Henley town councillors.

They recommend approval of the sign after it was reduced in size from two metres to 1.3m. It would feature an interactive message board as well as the school’s crest and motto. An earlier application was recommended for refusal as the design and materials were said to be unsympathetic to the location near the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

South Oxfordshire District Council will make the final decision.
