AN ARTIST is to get free use of the Old Fire Station Gallery in Henley after loaning a statue to the town.

Jan Boyt created the Frog Ball which was installed at Station Park in June and will remain there until November.

The exhibition will be called ‘I found Horses’ and will display a selection of works from various artists and raise money for the Emile Faurie Foundation.

Schools will be invited to attend to meet Ms Boyt, see examples of her work, and to ask questions. Speaking at last Tuesday’s recreation and amenities committee meeting, Mayor Stefan Gawrysiak said: “Anything that brings art into Henley should be applauded.”

Chairwoman Jeni Wood said that the week running from November 6 to 13 was free due to a cancellation.

The committee unanimously agreed to waive the £270 fee for hiring the gallery, and a final decision will be made by the full council.
