Appeal to drivers

DRIVERS are being urged not to park on pavements in Wargrave.

DRIVERS are being urged not to park on pavements in Wargrave.

The parish council is to include a plea in its next newsletter at the request of Councillor Marion Pope.

She said: “We are having problems on various roads and cul-de-sacs. People are parking on the pavements when we are trying to teach children that they should be just for pedestrians.

“It’s annoying walking along and finding that your way is blocked by a car or van. It can be very dangerous as people have to go into the road. I just wish drivers would stop and think that pavements are for pedestrians and if they have to park, park on the road.

“I know there are a lot of areas without parking in the village but you’ve got to think of things like the emergency services.”
