New-look hall unveiled

HUNDREDS of people attended the opening of the new-look Shiplake Memorial Hall on Sunday.

HUNDREDS of people attended the opening of the new-look Shiplake Memorial Hall on Sunday.

An open day was held at the hall, which has been refurbished at a cost of £460,000.

The improvements include a better kitchen for catering events, a meeting room and a new lobby. The hall committee raised £100,000 towards the work.

The hall in Memorial Avenue, Shiplake Cross, was built in 1925 and is used by a number of community groups.
