WHEN nature calls, a county councillor comes running — with cash.
David Bartholomew, who represents the Sonning Common ward on Oxfordshire County Council, told a parish council meeting that he had a small amount of money to give to community groups.
He offered to support any organisations with a specific need. In the past, money has gone towards a defibrillator for the village hall, play equipment and compost toilets at the allotments.
Cllr Bartholomew added: “I emphasise it’s a modest amount of money but for desperate allotment holders it can possibly go a long way.”
