Public recycling bins disappear from Henley

RECYCLING bins have been removed from the Greys Road and King?s Road car parks in Henley.

RECYCLING bins have been removed from the Greys Road and King?s Road car parks in Henley.

South Oxfordshire District Council had threatened to take away the bins if they were misused.

In August about 1.5 tonnes of household and commercial waste was dumped by the bins in King?s Road car park.

Now the council has removed recycling bins from across the district, saying it will save about £20,000 a year. It says residents can use their green recycling bins, and clear bags or cardboard boxes for any extra, for kerbside collection.
