Greys Road blocked for 10 weeks

A SECTION of Greys Road in Henley will be closed next month so that a main gas pipe can be upgraded

A SECTION of Greys Road in Henley will be closed next month so that a main gas pipe can be upgraded.

The street will be shut between Duke Street and Deanfield Avenue for about 10 weeks from February 2.

The Greys Road entrance to Greys Road car park will be closed but the other, off Market Place, will remain open.

Bus routes will be diverted and homes and businesses on the affected section of the street will still have access.

The work is being carried out by Southern Gas Networks as part of a renewal of the town?s gas supply.

Oxfordshire county councillor David Nimmo Smith, the cabinet member for highways, said: ?The work must be carried out so gas supplies can be maintained now and when more housing arrives through Henley?s neighbourhood plan.?

Work has already started on Remenham lane at the Junction with White Hill by The Little Angel pub.
