Parking crackdown

PARENTS in Wargrave will be prevented from parking outside schools in the village to drop off their children.

PARENTS in Wargrave will be prevented from parking outside schools in the village to drop off their children.

Wokingham Borough Council has issued prohibition or waiting orders for Beverley Gardens, outside Robert Piggott Infant School, and Autumn Walk, which is close to Robert Piggott Junior School in School Lane.

Waiting will be banned in Beverley Gardens from 8am to 9am and 2.30pm to 4pm, Monday to Friday, and there will be a permanent restriction on the junction between Autumn Lane and School Lane.

Parish councillor Andrew Luckwell said, “It’s for people who can’t be bothered when they are picking up their children.”

Councillor Philip Davies added, “It’s absolutely right but I worry where they are going to park. Parking provision is really not adequate for the junior school.”
