Blue bags coming

RESIDENTS of Wargrave and Charvil are being urged to cut down on their household waste

RESIDENTS of Wargrave and Charvil are being urged to cut down on their household waste.

Wokingham Borough Council is distributing 80 blue waste bags to each home in the villages to be used for waste collections between April this year and March 2016, an average of one-and-a-half bags per week.

The bags will be delivered in two waves over the next month, with additional bags being delivered to households of five or more people. More than five million bags will be delivered across the borough.

Councillor Angus Ross, executive member for environment, said: "Although this is the allocation up until the end of March 2016, we ask residents to try to reduce their household waste and recycle as much as possible."

Residents can recycle cans, paper and plastic using the kerbside recycling scheme. Recycling boxes can be ordered by calling 0118 974 6000.
