Easter disruptions for train users

TRAINS to and from Henley station will be disrupted over Easter due to rail improvement work

TRAINS to and from Henley station will be disrupted over Easter due to rail improvement work.

A replacement bus service will be running to and from Henley from Friday to Monday, April 3 to 6 and on Sunday, April 12.

First Great Western advises customers to use South West Train services from London Waterloo to Reading and to change at Wokingham for the replacement bus to Henley.

Henley and Marlow branch season ticket holders travelling to London may use Chiltern Railways services from High Wycombe, Gerrards Cross and intermediate stations but FGW parking permits will not be accepted at these stations.

A Saturday service will be operating from April 7 to 11 but there will be no direct services between Henley and London Paddington. Users should change at Twyford for connections to Reading and London.

A First Great Western spokeswoman said Network Rail had reviewed the Easter timetable in light of lessons learned from overruns during the Christmas holidays.

She added: ?We are working closely with them on robust project planning to make sure that handback is on time.

?We have also worked together to improve early warning systems in case of programme delay.

?Our contingency plan for Tuesday, April 7 will mean that we have managers and volunteers deployed at stations to offer assistance and advice to customers.?
