A COMMUNITY fun day is to be held in Wargrave after parish councillors approved use of Kings Field.

Wokingham Borough Council will run the event on August 6, which will feature arts and crafts stalls, police cars and fire engines and a bake-off competition.

The fun day takes place every two years and was previously held at Highfield Park, off Blakes Road.

Parish councillors had been reluctant to allow use Kings Field, where three new football pitches were created in 2013, but have now agreed with the organisers that they can use an area away from the pitches.

Councillor Marion Pope said: “I showed them where they could and couldn’t go on the field and they said they would have enough space to do what they wanted.”
